I love the Leafs. *LOVE.* Always have and always will. But yet again, the playoffs are a bust. Since the lockout in the 2004-05 season, they been, well, crap. Chalk it up to bad playing, coaching, management - whatever you'd like. They've just plain sucked.
This year showed, dare I say it, promise? I whole heartedly believe that Brian Burke was the best thing that's happened to the Leafs in years. Granted, they played terribly more often than not, but this last month (failed) push for the playoffs really gives me hope.
I miss the playoffs so, so badly! There was nothing quite as amazing as game day - you could go absolutely anywhere and you would see jerseys, car flags stickers, make up - a shower of blue and white everywhere! Spring just hasn't been the same....
I'm holding high hopes for the 2011-12 season. (I know Leafs fans say this every year, but I really really mean it!) They're heading in the right direction, it's only a matter of time :)
